SASSA Disability Grant Payment Distribution Starts 4 September
To all beneficiaries, SASSA disability grant payment distribution starts 4 September. You will receive an SMS confirmation on your registered phone number for the approved grant payments to ensure you receive your monthly payout on time.
SASSA Disability Grant Payment Distribution Starts 4 September
Grant | Payment Date |
---|---|
SASSA Disability Grant | 4 September (Wednesday) |
SASSA Care Dependency Grant | 4 September (Wednesday) |
According to the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), confirmed 4 September is the schedule for SASSA disability grant and care dependency grant beneficiaries to receive approved payments. If you have already submitted your bank account to SASSA with the Change Banking Details process, you should be ready for your grant transactions directly to your linked bank account during office hours.
Those beneficiaries with no bank account can withdraw cash using the SASSA gold card at ATMs, Post Office branches, and authorised retail outlets such as Boxer, Pick N Pay, Shoprite, Usave, Spar, and Checkers. Be sure to perform the SASSA Status Check online to receive the confirmation SMS on your registered phone number to timely receive your funds.
SASSA Identity Verification Required for Disability Grant
If your SASSA status check shows “ID verification failed” you will not be able to receive your Disability Grant for September or the following month of October. It’s important to note that if your ID is not recognized by SASSA, your grant may permanently lapse unless you submit your original ID document to the SASSA portal for verification.
To verify your identity, update your SASSA grant application online with accurate information, including your full name, surname, phone number, original identification document, and bank details. You will also need to provide your bank statement as proof of income. This can be done through the SASSA reapplication process after the current month’s payment dates have passed.
The South African government has implemented monthly identity verification checks for SASSA grant holders to combat the increasing number of scams and grant misuse. SASSA verification system now reconfirms the identity of approved grant recipients before monthly SASSA payment dates. This involves cross-referencing your ID with various databases to prevent fraudulent activity.
Important Note: If your SASSA verification failed, it means your ID does not meet SASSA’s qualification criteria, and you will not receive your Disability Grant payment for the current month. This issue happens if your ID is associated with other grants in the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) database or if the Means Test detects an alternative source of income that affects your eligibility.
