For May 2026, SASSA is prepared to distribute social grants for vulnerable South Africans. The first payment will be paid on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, for Old Age Grant beneficiaries.
The agency has improved its social grant systems for eligible beneficiaries. You will now receive an increased amount of R2,420 as an individual recipient of the Old Age Grant for May 2026.
