  1. To apply for SASSA R370 grant application, you can visit the SRD portal online: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/
  2. On the homepage find the “Click here to apply online” button to access the SRD application form.
  3. Enter your cell phone number for registration and click the “Send SMS” button.
  4. You will receive a 6-digit OTP code in a message on your cell phone number.
  5. Input the OTP number and click the “Verify Pin” button.
  6. Provide your South African ID if you are a citizen, and File Number or Green Book Number if you are a Special Permit holder.
  7. Complete the screening questions and fill in all the fields correctly, including Name, Surname, Gender, Address, Income, and Job status.
  8. Add your banking details for the payment option (Bank Name, Branch, Account Type), or select one of SASSA-partnered retail stores for “Send Cash.”
  9. Submit your complete SASSA SRD R370 grant application form using your preferred payment method.
  10. SASSA verifies and processes your application and banking details from the Department of Home Affairs database.
  11. You will receive a SASSA confirmation message on your registered mobile phone number confirming your SRD R370 grant is active and approved.
  12. Asylum Seekers and Special Permit holders will be sent a Payment ID to collect the approved SRD grant payment at Pick ‘n Pay or other preferred retail stores.

Important Note for SASSA SRD Grant Applicants

Please take note of the following to ensure your application is successful and you receive your monthly funds timely on scheduled SASSA dates.

  1. If your SRD R370 grant application is declined, you’ll receive a reason from SASSA via SMS. If you disagree with the decision, you have the option to submit SASSA appeal to have your application reconsidered.
