Check SRD R370 Status Before 23 September 2025
For the September 2025 payout, your SASSA SRD status determines eligibility for the Social Relief of Distress Grant. Without an approved status, no payment will be processed after 23 September 2025. All beneficiaries are advised to verify their grant approval to ensure they are paid on the confirmed monthly dates.
To check R370 status on the official SRD portal srd.sassa.gov.za, you’ll need to enter your identity card number and the phone number used in your SASSA R370 application. The online SASSA database will show your payment status for September, confirming your SRD grant is approved, pending, or declined.
Change Payment Method to Receive Your September Grant
SASSA reminds beneficiaries to ensure their payment method is valid for the September 2025 payouts. If bank details are outdated or incorrect, payment processing may be delayed, or the grant may not be paid at all.
It is against SASSA rules to pay a grant into someone else’s bank account, unverified account, or an inactive account that is no longer in use.
Updating your payment method is important, especially if you have multiple bank accounts. Beneficiaries use the Change Banking Details SASSA process, which is available online.
Once updated, confirm banking details are correct, so that your SRD R370 grant will be paid directly into your personal bank account without issues.
Update: To prevent possible delays in September grant payments, beneficiaries must switch to Postbank Black Cards. SASSA has confirmed that Gold Cards will remain valid until all beneficiaries have transitioned to the new Postbank Black Card system.
Submit an Appeal if Your R370 Grant Is Not Paid
Those beneficiaries who have not received their SASSA R370 payment for September 2025 have the legal right to lodge an appeal through the official SRD appeals portal without delay. Online appeals must be submitted using a valid South African ID number and the phone number registered on the SRD system.
Do not delay, as appeals are only accepted within SASSA’s appeal window of 30 to 90 days. Every case reviewed by the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA), and the final decision will be communicated via phone call, SMS, or email.
Note: If a payment was declined for more than one month, you must submit a separate appeal for each affected month.
