SASSA’s new payment schedule has been confirmed, with the October 2025 disability grant pay day set for Friday, 3 October 2025. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has advised beneficiaries to take note of monthly payout dates to ensure timely access to funds.

This October, the SASSA grants rollout will commence with the Older Persons grants, paid on Thursday, 2nd October, followed by the Disability grant on Friday, 3rd October 2025, and all other social grants, including the Child Support grant, on Monday, 6th October 2025.
All eligible beneficiaries aged 18 to 59 and medically unfit receive their approved disability grant on Thursday, 2 October 2025 (03/10/2015).
You can expect to receive your Grant-in-Aid (GiA) together with your Disability Grant (DG). SASSA pays any linked grants on the same payday as your main social grant.
Payments will commence from 07:30 AM to 4:00 PM on the scheduled SASSA payment dates for October 2025.

Update: SASSA has confirmed that SRD R350 payment dates will start from 27 October 2025. Beneficiaries are urged to perform their SRD status check to verify their grant approval.
How SASSA Pays Out the Disability Grant for October 2025
To ensure disability grant beneficiaries receive their approved payments on time in October 2025, SASSA has confirmed several secure and convenient payout options.

Direct Bank Deposit
Payments can be transferred straight into a beneficiary’s registered personal bank account. This option is the safest and most convenient for those who prefer not to queue at the Post Office and other collection points.
SASSA Gold Card or Postbank Black Card
Beneficiaries can withdraw funds at any Postbank ATM or participating Post Office branch using their official Postbank-issued card, jointly managed by SASSA and Postbank.
Retailer Collection Points
For those who do not use banking services, grants can be collected at SASSA-partnered supermarkets and retailers across the country, including Shoprite, Checkers, Spar, Pick n Pay, Boxer, and Usave stores.
Note: Bank payments take two to three business days to reflect after processing. Beneficiaries are advised to allow for this waiting period before checking their accounts.
