Postbank Sets April 2025 Deadline for SASSA Black Cards

During a media briefing of CEO Nikki Mbengashe on 28 March 2025, Postbank spokesperson Bongani Diako confirmed that SASSA beneficiaries will continue receiving their April 2025 social grants without disruption. While the initial 20 March 2025 black card deadline has passed, Postbank and SASSA are still urging beneficiaries to collect their black cards from designated replacement sites.

SASSA black card sites are available at Shoprite, Usave, Spar, Pick ’n Pay, and Boxer. Beneficiaries can find the nearest location by dialing *120*355# from any cellphone.

Bongani Diako also stated that Postbank is actively progressing with the replacement of SASSA Gold Cards, implementing measures to facilitate the transition for beneficiaries. Efforts include expanding the number of card replacement sites and providing assistance to beneficiaries with mobility challenges.

Ms. Mbengashe encourages SASSA beneficiaries to visit the nearest Postbank location to replace their Gold Cards with the new Postbank Black Cards, ensuring the uninterrupted receipt of their much-needed SASSA grants.

Important Note

Before visiting the payment collection location for your April 2025 grant funds, it’s a must for SASSA beneficiaries to check their SASSA status online. This will confirm your approval status and ensure that your grant payment has been processed, saving you time and effort.

After verifying your grant status, you can check SASSA grant payment dates for April 2025.
