To assist people in rural and remote areas, SASSA operates the Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme (ICROP), which deploys mobile teams to local service points to help with SASSA verification throughout the country.

Once you have verified your biometric ID, and a SASSA representative has successfully matched your details with the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) database. Your eligibility remains valid for SASSA support, and you will receive your social grant and SRD grant payment for June 2025.

Spokesperson Senzeni Ngubeni confirmed that ID verification must now be completed in person at a SASSA office or through mobile teams operating in rural areas. The online process is no longer valid.

If you used alternative ID documents during your application or reapplication, provided incorrect banking or contact details, were flagged for suspected fraud, or recently got married, changed your surname, or were divorced, you must complete identity verification.

These requirements counter both new applicants who applied for the SASSA grant June 2025 and existing beneficiaries of the SRD R370 Grant, Older Persons Grant, Child Support Grant, and Disability Grant, whose status shows ‘identity verification pending.’
