SASSA War Veterans Grant Payment Not Received for January 2026

Who Qualifies for SASSA War Veterans Grant

You will qualify for the SASSA War Veterans Grant if you meet the following requirements.

  • Your age is 60 years or older
  • Live in South Africa
  • Have fought in the Second World War or the Korean War
  • Being a South African citizen or permanent resident
  • Not receive any other social grant
  • Currently not being cared for in a state institution
  • Fulfill the SASSA Means Test criteria

  3. Enter your personal details, including ID, name, address, and email.
  4. Enter your active cellphone number and verify the SASSA OTP.
  5. Create your login password to complete your SASSA account registration.

SASSA War Veterans Grant Application

  1. Log in to your SASSA Services Portal using your username and password.
  2. Select the War Veterans Grant for Older Persons from the listed Social Grants.
  3. You need to fill out your War Veterans Grant Application form with the required details.
  4. Enter your South African ID and the personal details such as name, address, and age.
  5. Complete the questionnaire for your citizenship, residence, income, and marital status.
  6. As requested, you have to upload the required documents for the War Veterans Grant.

How Much is the War Veterans Grant in South Africa

SASSA provides a monthly payment of R2,320 for approved War Veterans Grant beneficiaries aged 60 to 74, and R2,340 for those 75 and older. For married couples, the combined assets limit is R254,100 (R3,049,200 annually). These limits ensure the War Veterans Grant supports those in genuine financial need.
