1. To cancel your grant application, visit the SASSA portal https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/cancellation
2. Scroll down and click on the “Cancel My Application” tab.
3. Click the yellow button labelled “Click Here for SASSA Cancel Application Online”.
4. A new prompt will appear asking for your details.
5. Enter your South African ID number and the cellphone number registered with your SASSA application.
6. Click “Send PIN” to receive a SASSA verification OTP (One Time PIN) via SMS.
7. Enter the OTP code to verify your identity as the original applicant.
8. Click the “Cancel My Grant” button. A message will appear asking: “Are you sure to cancel your grant application?”
9. Confirm by selecting “Yes” to proceed with the grant cancellation.
10. Upload your job appointment letter/payslip or signed affidavit explaining the reason for cancellation.

Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation SMS: “Your request to cancel your SASSA grant has been sent.”

Cancel Your SASSA SRD Grant Application At SASSA Office

You can cancel your SASSA SRD or any other social grant if you’ve found a job or been accepted into an academic programme. Visit your nearest SASSA office and submit a cancellation request. SASSA will process it and update your records.
