SASSA reconfirmation is required for all SRD grant beneficiaries every three months. This quick step confirms that you still qualify for the Social Relief of Distress Grant and lets you update your responses to the screening questionnaire for changes in your personal and financial circumstances.
SASSA Reconfirm SRD Grant
You can easily reconfirm your SRD R350 application from the comfort of your home without visiting a SASSA office. Follow these quick steps.
- To reconfirm your grant application, visit the SASSA portal. https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconfirmation/auth
- Scroll to the “Click here to reconfirm your grant application” option.
- Enter your 13-digit South African ID number and your registered cell phone number.
- You need to answer the short screening questionnaire to reconfirm your eligibility, such as:
- Changes in your financial situation
- Changes in your personal details
- If needed, you can easily update your application details.
- Then select the option “Reconfirm Existing Application” to confirm you still need the SRD grant.
- Submit your SASSA Reconfirmation and continue to receive your grant payments.
Helpful note: Reconfirming your existing application or reapplication every three months keeps your grant active. It’s different from SASSA reconsideration process.
Processing Time for SASSA SRD Grant Reconfirmation
After you submit reconfirmation, your SASSA application is verified within 14 days. SASSA checks your details against trusted government databases. Your status will show Pending while this review happens. Once everything checks out, your status updates to approved, allowing your grant to arrive on the monthly payment date, which is the last week of each month.
How to Stay Eligible for SASSA SRD Grant
To remain eligible, SRD grant beneficiaries must keep their monthly income below R624. You can easily comply with this requirement by maintaining your SASSA balance below this threshold.
Your phone number is linked to your SRD R370 grant. If you lose access to it, you can change phone number online via the SASSA portal.
For grant payments, you can change banking details to any other available payment method, which can be your SASSA card, personal bank account, or retailer pay point.
