SASSA Reconfirm SRD R350 Application

The SASSA reconfirm process for SRD R350 grant applicants is used for reviewing, updating, or confirming personal or banking details with the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA). This was originally required during the rollout of the COVID-19 SRD R350 grant, when SASSA asked beneficiaries to reconfirm their details monthly to continue receiving payments.

Since mid-2022, the monthly R350 reconfirmation status has been discontinued and replaced by the SASSA status check system for monthly payment dates. Now, in 2025/2026, SASSA SRD reconfirmation is only necessary when your personal information needs updating or your financial or life circumstances have changed, such as:

  • Updating employment or income status
  • Changing banking details
  • Switching from a SASSA card to bank deposits
  • Updating personal information
  • Changing your phone number
  • Confirming residency or citizenship
  • Reapplying after a failed application

SASSA Reconfirm Online

  1. Visit the SASSA SRD portal at srd.sassa.gov.za.
  2. Click “Update Your Grant Application” or scroll down to “Reconfirm Existing Application.”
    • Link: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconfirmation/auth
  3. Enter your South African ID and phone number to reconfirm and update your existing SASSA grant application.
  4. Submit any missing documents and update your personal information to reflect your current circumstances.
  5. Choose your payment method: either link your bank account or receive via Post Offices or approved retail outlets.
  6. Read the ‘SASSA Declaration and Consent Form’ carefully to confirm that the provided documents and details are correct.
  7. Submit your SASSA reconfirmation form. Then wait for the application to be processed and approved.

Once a beneficiary updates or SRD reconfirms their SASSA R350 application, SASSA takes up to 30 days to verify and process the changes. After successful verification, the beneficiary will be approved for monthly payments.

Reconfirming your application and personal details helps you avoid the need to reapply for the SRD grant or any other SASSA grant, including the old age grant, disability grant, or child support grant. SASSA reapplication is required when the initial application is incomplete, outdated, or missing key information.

Important Reminder:

The personal information you provide must match the records held by the Department of Home Affairs. SASSA uses this data to validate and approve your grant application.

Providing accurate details helps ensure your grant is processed without delays or rejection, which, if it happens, can only be resolved by submitting a SASSA reconsideration request.

SRD Reconfirm Banking Details for SASSA Grant Payment

If you’re switching your bank account for SASSA payments and need to reconfirm your banking details, make sure:

  • Your bank account is active
  • All details (account number, branch code, and account type) are correct
  • The bank account is registered in your name and not used by someone else

To reconfirm your banking information, visit the “Change Banking Details SASSA” page. Enter your ID number and phone number to verify your identity. You’ll receive a secure SMS link to update the banking details previously submitted and reconfirm R350, which SASSA increased to R370 grant payments.

Once SASSA approves your new bank account, all future payments will go directly into that account, not your SASSA Gold Card or Black Card issued by Postbank.

Important Update: After changing phone number, you must update your contact details on the SASSA portal. This process is as important as updating your banking details. SASSA requires the correct number to send OTPs and grant-related messages.
